Organic ClothingWhat is Organic Cotton?Organic cotton is guaranteed to be produced without the utilisation of chemicals or any genetically modified seeds In addition, organic cotton is usually rotated with other crops - thereby giving a chance for the soil to replenish itself, and also offering a choice to the farmer and less dependence on a single crop. Certified organic cotton also bans the addition of chemicals as the fibre is turned into clothes. i.e. It is 100% natural when it reaches you. We have ladies jumpers and tops made from 100% wool, with no added chemicals, from Organic fashion houses like Stewart & Brown, Patagonia, Kuyichi, & Peopletree. Dresses made from natural cotton products, wool or hemp, designer clothing from new and upcoming designers such as Ciel, Mumo, Alchem1st and Bono's fashion house at EDUN. Shoes made from recycled rubber and leather materials, see Terra Plana and Veja's selection, with some very cuddly looking slippers/ house shoes from Po-Zu. Our child & baby clothes, from Tatty Bumpkin and others, are made to be gentle, soft to the touch and natural, all are eco-friendly & free of nasty chemicals. However, we DO understand that the Organic Clothing wearer or receiver also desires stylish and fashionable clothes - we ensure that all our organic clothing clothes have oodles of style and plenty of quality. Our suppliers design with the eco consumer in mind, our Organic clothes come from a range of Organically sourced or manufactured fabrics and cloth, 100% organic Organic cotton, much of it certified organic cotton. You will find that some of our brands trade fairly with the producers whilst others have a focus on the environmental costs of growing and producing the fibres and fabric necessary for manufacture. Some brands do achieve both these objectives and many are aspiring to. We offer these pioneering brands to our customers from those suppliers which are tackling directly on one or more of the Organic issues involved in eco-friendly fashion production.
